G1 Original Bagpipe Reeds

Each tube of cane is personally hand selected and only the best will be deemed acceptable for G1’s high standards. The cane is sourced from top cane growers in France and Spain depending on the season. It is then treated and prepared in a highly skilled process only known to G1 reeds. Then the reeds are manufactured in small batches, which ensure a premium quality. Each reed is then tested, varnished, then tested again.

G1 is being used my many of the worlds top pipe bands, and solo players. Each reed comes pre-tested and packaged individually in a plastic reed pack. This will protect them from chipping when not in use. Reeds are in 3 different strengths, soft, medium and hard. Please specify what strength you are looking for.

To gauge the strength of a chanter reed, we use the Pipers’ Choice Reed Strength tester. Please note the following are levels of water column inches. Soft – 27 or lower, Medium – 28 to 37
